Harp Kang
Student Clinician

My name is Harp, and I am a Student Clinician at TD Psychological Services and Counselling. My journey began as a Child and Youth Worker, supporting children facing challenges related to trauma, substance use, and mental health. During this time, I noticed that many of the youth I worked with struggled significantly with learning, and their life experiences only compounded these difficulties. This realization fueled my desire to make a deeper impact by addressing the educational needs and challenges of these children and adolescents.
Driven by this passion, I pursued a Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary. Throughout my studies, I gained valuable experience through practicum placements at Little Oaks Psychology and the Centre for Wellbeing in Education. Now, as I complete my final internship at TD Psychological Services and Counselling, I specialize in conducting psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents.
I focus on understanding and supporting the academic, cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of each individual I work with. My approach is centered on helping children grow and flourish by identifying and building upon their strengths, while addressing areas of need. I am committed to fostering a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment, recognizing that each child is unique and requires tailored support to thrive.
